Why Designers should embrace HTML 5

As a Web designer, we are in constant searching for ways to improve our web page design not just from the aesthics aspect of the design but also the back-end or the coding part. With Google now considering page loading as a part to rank a website's page rank, page loading optimization is now a MUST if you want your website to remain "search engine friendly".

HTML 5 is the newest web standard that can satisfy those requirements as the new format is basically "direct to the point", virtually having lesser codes than it's predecessor HTML 4 and xHTML.

HTML 5 can also help web designers (and developers) lessen the dependence on third party applications (e.g. online media sites like Youtube ditching Flash in favor of HTML 5 ) due to the new html tag
